Olaf Hesse

Olaf Hesse joined the German Navy in October 1993 with the 1st Marine Security Battalion in Glückstadt, completing both basic and specialized training. Over the course of his career,
he advanced through non-commissioned officer training, became proficient in the Air Defense System Roland, and qualified as a boatswain. He served as commander of the Roland system, group leader in the Marine Security Battalion, and later as platoon leader in basic training at the Electronic Warfare Battalion.
From 2003, Olaf held multiple roles at KSM Eckernförde, including group leader, deputy platoon leader, shooting instructor, and sniper trainer. In 2010, he joined the Naval Operations School in Bremerhaven as shooting instructor and head of the armory, later transferring to the Bundeswehr Logistics School in Garlstedt in 2019. Since 2021, he has served as commanding officer in Eckernförde.His operational deployments include ISAF in Afghanistan, UNIFIL in
Lebanon, and EUMAM in the training of Ukrainian armed forces.
